Stock and inventory basics

Track stock from document actions, not from memory or guesswork.

  1. Set stock tracking only on goods that you really count.
  2. Keep the correct unit and conversion rule for each stock item.
  3. Use purchase, challan, invoice, and stock audit flows so stock moves from real actions.
  4. Review stock ledger and stock report before you buy more or close the month.
  5. If physical stock is different, use stock audit instead of guessing manually.
  6. Resolve warning or block states shown by negative stock policy.

Tip: Review slow-moving items weekly so stock does not lock working capital.

Important: Avoid manual edits outside document flow when you need audit-ready stock history.

Ledger-first stock behavior improves confidence before purchase planning.
